Project

25 Sixth Street

25 Sixth Street was formerly an industrial site adjacent to the new MBTA Silver Line Station and has been redeveloped into a transit-oriented community that provides 62 affordable homes for families, an improved streetscape along Sixth Street, and a pedestrian pathway connecting the station to Bellingham Square, Chelsea’s downtown core. The project includes 56 mixed-income rental units and 6 homeownership units, responding to the city’s growing need for affordable housing.

The property offers a variety of amenities, including a community room, a 4,000-square-foot outdoor public space on the second level, 40 at-grade parking spaces, laundry facilities on three floors, and public bicycle parking. Designed with energy efficiency as a core principle, the building meets Passive House Certification standards.

Our scope of work focused on the building envelope and cladding systems. We installed:

  • Kingspan / Morin Kingspan Metal Panels
  • James Hardie fiber cement siding with 4″ and 7″ exposures
  • James Hardie Panels
  • Rockwool insulation on the Green Girt System

This package was key to ensuring durability, efficiency, and Passive House performance. The project was delivered in approximately 5 months, covering more than 380 squares of siding, with a team of over 25 skilled cladding installers.
